Look at my friends art work

A good friend of mine Julie is doing an art course at the local college one of her units is based on Emotions this is the art work she has prodused for that unit. She was really unsure whether to submit it or not. she bought it along to see what our reaction were to the painting and then decide. We all loved it. So good luck Julie i hope you get a good mark.

A Birthday card for my lovely 17 year old daughter

Well what a busy week it has been.
Last sunday it was Karla's 17th birthday and she had asked us to go visit her in London we had said yes before we realised it was the London marathon that day, so instead of going into the center of London we took her to Camden market. It was fantastic we will be going again!!!
Karla bought along 2 friends Aimee and Antonia, so i made them each a favour box with some little mint chocolates in them. All the girls had a fab time and all wished they had lots more money to spend.
The stamped image was a gorguss girl stamp from funky kits and the pp's were basic grey two scoops. Hope you like the card?

My card to my mum on mothers day

While surffing the net i came across Elains fab blog she makes fantastic exploding boxes. Well I followed the tutorial she has on her gallery blog and this is what i made for my mum for mothers day (I also made one for my darling hubbies mum).
Why is it men are hopeless when it comes to remembering special occassions. I ordered my mum a lovely boquet of freshias from Geurnsey. they arrived on saturday. unfortunatly my mum wont get this card until tomorrow (but she got the flowers) Now DH hadnt even thought about mothers day until my mum rang to say thank you. Oh well my son also takes after his dad because i didnt get anything off him and when i asked very nicely for a cuppa i then had to wait 2 hours. Karla is let off the hook as she is away at school and we normally do something when she comes home (which is next friday) Hope you like the card with a difference............... Made with..... textured black cardstock. gold mirriboard. Basic grey PP (scraps) Basic Grey swirlly stamp, stickles. silver Wire, Red ribbon. Lamminating pouches cut into thin strips
Stamp... Bought from redicut a couple of years ago its by Anna Griffin.

Had a laugh today at work

It was world book day today so we had to go dressed as a character from a book (guess what i went as?)
You guessed it the white rabbit from Alice in Wonderland. (And i wasn't late for work)

The kids had lots of fun the cook did us proud at snak time we read the hungry catterpillar and she did all the food in the book for the children to try. then for lunch we read the Gruffalo and had scrambled snake (taglatttelli) and owl ice-cream for desert. (she made itin the shape of an owl with waffers for a beak and ears and currents for eyes. Then for tea we read goldilocks and three bears and we had Porrige for tea. we had lots of fun!!!!!

Captured fairy jar

This was our project at college this week. It used lots of different techniques. staining paper with walnut ink, then stamping a flowery background. coloured the fairy in using prisma pencils and blended with sansador. we then placed oasis in the bottom of the jar then added pot-pouri. i found a scrap piece of hessian for the lid then again decorated it with pot-pouri.

Ihope you all like it. I loved making this

Over on Hunnybunnycards Barbara was sent this lovely prayer so i hope she doesn't mind but i thought i would share it with everone who follows my blog.

Dear Lord,

Every single evening
As I'm lying here in bed,
This tiny little Prayer
Keeps running through my head:
God bless all my family
Wherever they may be,
Keep them warm and safe from harm
For they're so close to me.

And God, there is one more thing
I wish that you could do;
Hope you don't mind me asking,
Please bless my computer too.
Now I know that it's unusual
To Bless a motherboard,
But listen just a second
While I explain it to you, Lord.

You see, that little metal box
Holds more than odds and ends;
Inside those small compartments
Rest so many of my friends.
I know so much about them
By the kindness that they give,
And this little scrap of metal
Takes me in to where they live.

Please take an extra minute
From your duties up above,
To bless those in my address book
That's filled with so much love.
Wherever else this prayer may reach
To each and every friend,
Bless each e-mail inbox
And each person who hits 'send'.

When you update your Heavenly list
On your own Great CD-ROM,
Bless everyone who says this prayer
Sent up to GOD.com

Amen

Dottie and George back to front collection

This card was made using the new download collection over on charmed cards and crafts its the Dottie and George back to front collection designed by the very tallented Louise. (I love this collection, its one of my favourites.) I have decoupaged the flowers to give it a little more dimension.

The inside of the card is just as detailed as the front.

i am so sorry about the lighting in these photo's. I did these recipe cards for a cupcake swap that im in over on uk Scrappers. The recipe is printed off the computer and i used a clear cupcake stamp (this was 99p from a local craft shop). I used some pp out of my scrap box and the lovely Tilda stamp coloured using my prisma pencils and sansador.
I am a member of a stampers 10 group (stampin up) run by monica. She sets challenges each month and you get a little bag of goodies. This was our challenge. (i love it)

I attend a craft class on a monday evening at our local college Tina who runs the class is so tallented and comes up with some fantastic ideas. this card was supposed to be a femaile vintage card but i wanted to make a masculin card so i used the base idea off Tina then altered it by using some of my paper artsy stamps. Next week we are making a double diamond card. Then we are capturing a fairy in a jar (I cant wait)

I hope you liked these cards will be back tomorrow with some cards made from the new designes of Dottie and George over on Charmed cards and crafts

I'm still here

Sorry for not being a good blogger lately but before christmas the whole family took it in turns getting this horrible flu bug. (it was a really nasty little bug). Anyway then we went on our jolly holidays. oh what fun we had. walking along the beach in the lovely sunshine on christmas day, Then on new years eve we went to a free concert on the beach where we saw UB40 it was fantastic. 20,000 people and we were right at the front

I thought i would show you some of my holiday snaps. This is what it was like on our first day. We had left a cold and wet England to land in a warm and sunny PortugalChristmas morning sipping champagne cocktails as they were free karl got a little carried away and had about 8 (you wouldnt beleive he doesn't drink)Now it must have been warm for me to take my cardie off.Every christmas day we have chips and egg its a tradition we even took to PortugalThis is the stage on the beach ready for the new years eve cellebrations. (look right next to the sea)UB40The concert was fantastic.

When we were waiting for our flight home they said it was -10 at Gatwick. when we got there it had gone up to 0. The following day we got up for work. when we opened the curtains this is what greeted us (now someone is taking the mickie)

I hope i didn't bore you to much with my holiday snaps.

I will try and post some crafty things tomorrow.
