Art journaling

I went on an art jornaling workshop run by Sue Roddis at the Cubby Hole in crew we had loads of fun getting messy and i really enjoyed myself even though i am suffering with a cold.
This is the first page that we tackled
First choose some scrapbooking papers glue them onto the page. then splodge on some paint
next draw a circle where you want the sun/moon. and some simple house shapes. then paint inside these shapes with gesso.

next paint the sun/moon and houses then overstamp and add your words. outline the shapes with charchole and smudge this will make things pop off the page.

2010 diary

This diary started life as a purple diary from poundland. I thought i would make it my own so i paintedit didnt like it so painted and inked it some more until i came up with this. I love it!!!!

I have been away far to long .......Sorry!

Sorry that it's been such a long time since i last blogged. I hope that i still have some followers. I have been so busy and oh so stressed. My darling hubby has had to give up his courier business. and we have been under a lot of pressure financially. anyway enough of the moaning. here are 2 cards that i have made recently. the first was made at a local craft class that i have started attending. it's an unusual folded card but i really enjoyed making this one. all stamps are from Stampin up..

This card was made for a halloween card swap at The Cubby Hole My friend and i recently went to this shop for the first time it is FAB

The house stamp is one i bought from spiral whisper. the skellinton i bought from Blade rubber stamps on a recent trip to London to visit my daughter Karla. The card is fab i bought it about 2 years ago from a local craft shop and have been trying to work out what to use it for then a light bulb went on and here you have it a lovely halloween card.
This was a plain whit envelop which i attaced with glimmer mists and a flock of bats stamp

These are my creations for day 4 as guest designer on Elzybells

This is my take on a tunnel card. This is fab as it folds flat and fits into a normal size envelope.

Wow i was asked a while ago to be guest designer for Elizabeth over on elzybells and i am now the guest designer for June. I am so pleased with myself i could just pop. These are the photo's that she has featured today.

The next card was following on the fairytale theme with the princess and the frog. This was going to be a tunnel card but as you can see it changed shape as i was making it.

How long have you been stamping / how did you get into stamping?
I have been stamping for about 10 years on and off. I first got into stamping when my mum and I went to the NEC we saw lots of people demoing and decided to give it a go. So we bought a few stamps (that we shared) and an inkpad each.

Do you enjoy any other crafting hobbies?
I enjoy all aspects of crafting and if something catches my eye I will give it a try. I have had a go at cross stitch; I love altered art and being able to incorporate stamping into this. I have dabbled in scrapbooking but I still struggle with 12x12” pages and prefer making smaller layouts or mini books

Would you say you have a particular stamping style?
I don’t think I have a particular stamping style but at the moment the styles of stamping I like the look of are vintage, grungy and cute.

Look at my friends art work

A good friend of mine Julie is doing an art course at the local college one of her units is based on Emotions this is the art work she has prodused for that unit. She was really unsure whether to submit it or not. she bought it along to see what our reaction were to the painting and then decide. We all loved it. So good luck Julie i hope you get a good mark.

A Birthday card for my lovely 17 year old daughter

Well what a busy week it has been.
Last sunday it was Karla's 17th birthday and she had asked us to go visit her in London we had said yes before we realised it was the London marathon that day, so instead of going into the center of London we took her to Camden market. It was fantastic we will be going again!!!
Karla bought along 2 friends Aimee and Antonia, so i made them each a favour box with some little mint chocolates in them. All the girls had a fab time and all wished they had lots more money to spend.
The stamped image was a gorguss girl stamp from funky kits and the pp's were basic grey two scoops. Hope you like the card?

My card to my mum on mothers day

While surffing the net i came across Elains fab blog she makes fantastic exploding boxes. Well I followed the tutorial she has on her gallery blog and this is what i made for my mum for mothers day (I also made one for my darling hubbies mum).
Why is it men are hopeless when it comes to remembering special occassions. I ordered my mum a lovely boquet of freshias from Geurnsey. they arrived on saturday. unfortunatly my mum wont get this card until tomorrow (but she got the flowers) Now DH hadnt even thought about mothers day until my mum rang to say thank you. Oh well my son also takes after his dad because i didnt get anything off him and when i asked very nicely for a cuppa i then had to wait 2 hours. Karla is let off the hook as she is away at school and we normally do something when she comes home (which is next friday) Hope you like the card with a difference............... Made with..... textured black cardstock. gold mirriboard. Basic grey PP (scraps) Basic Grey swirlly stamp, stickles. silver Wire, Red ribbon. Lamminating pouches cut into thin strips
Stamp... Bought from redicut a couple of years ago its by Anna Griffin.
